Expert Recommendation For Commercial Exercise Equipment

Commercial Exercise Equipment

Commercial exercise equipment is the type of exercise equipment found in public gyms, fitness centres, company gyms, schools and even some churches! There is a vast range of commercial gym equipment available and they have all the same machines that you can buy in a normal sports store for home use. Exercise bikes, weight machines, multi gyms, elliptical trainers, steppers and treadmills are available for purchase by the commercial customer. If you have enough space and money available you can even purchase commercial exercise equipment for the home gym.

Of course, with there being such a vast range of equipment available it pays to shop around before purchasing to ensure you are getting the best deal. There are a few things you should look into before investing in a particular item.

Firstly, good quality commercial exercise equipment needs to be able to withstand heavy use each and every day. Home gym equipment is only designed to be used maybe once a day for an hour or so but commercial equipment will have to stand up to almost continuous use for most of the day, often six or seven days a week. If the equipment you have chosen is unable to stand up to this kind of abuse then you are likely to be suffering a lot of machine down time and the associated loss of income while the machine is awaiting repair.

It is important to only purchase equipment with a good warranty or you risk having to fork out expensive repair costs should anything go wrong. It is pretty much standard for commercial gym equipment to come with a five year warranty on all of the parts that are likely to wear or become damaged in use. If the equipment you have your eye on does not come with such a warranty then my advice is to walk away. All new equipment should be guaranteed by the manufacturer, if it is not again, walk away.

Have a good look over the equipment, does it look tough? Often equipment may look the part but when closely inspected it can be found to be somewhat under par. For instance do the welds look like they were done by a child? I have seen welds on equipment that look like they would struggle to stand up to five minutes use let alone five years!

It is important to consider the upholstery on the equipment, if it is a weight bench for example, it will be used by a number of different clients every day and as such needs to stand up to this sort of abuse. You will want something that is non absorbent and water resistant to keep your clients comfortable.
